 Our Opinion: -

Now discontinued by Vango and being offered at a really good price. The Magra and its sister awning the Tolga were part of Vangos Sport range and are probably the best value awnings available at present. The main reason is the fabric. With Vangos entry level Experience range of awnings both Air & Poled (Tailgate Hub, Faros, Galli Poled) being manufactured in Vango's Sentinel Active Fabric which is a 62g/m fabric and Vangos Top of the range Air Awnings Kela and Galli being manufactured using Vangos Sentinel Pro Fabric which is a 108g/m fabric with ColourLok, then the Tolga and Magra being made from Vango's Sentinel Sport fabric with a weight of 103g/m and also featuring ColourLok offer a much higher specification fabric, that offer a good strength to pack size ratio, essential in a campervan awning where pack size is important.

The Magra design is a bit different to existing awnings on the market, as it offers a front and rear door to the awning. With the rear door opening into a reasonably sized curved porch area, giving an area to sit out in the shade on a sunny day, a covered porch on a rainy day ideal for cooking under or storage of bikes etc.. The front door offers a simply canopy, formed with an Alloy pole to hive a rainsafe entrance

The Magra is a campsite friendly side attaching awning. It features a vertical front wall/door with a nice sized canopy, with an alloy pole used to form the canopy, to give a rain safe door. The front door also features an internal mesh door to help keep out bugs. To help with condensation control the awning includes a Skyliner. All the Diamond clear windows feature zip up blinds for privacy.

The Magra is features Vangos Sentinel Sport Fabric, a Hex embossed Polyester with a weight of 105g/m², giving a great space to weight ratio. An important consideration in any awning designed for use in smaller Campervans, where storage space is restricted.

As with all Vango fabrics the flysheet uses Vango’s ColourLok™ finish. This Aids Colour retention from UV light. Stopping a lot of the fading that occurs when the awning is exposed to Sun Light. This also gives the fabric a 30+ UPF rating so helps makes the awnings more durable and longer lasting against UV degradation, combined with Vango’s exclusive TBS system giving the reassurance that your awning will stand up to the British weather. 

The Magra also features Vango’s SkyTrack system, that enables you to hang lights and other accessories from the air beams, always a problem in air tents and awnings because of the lack of poles that were the natural hanging points.

There are 2 bedroom options for the Magra. There is an optional Sport  Awning bedroom that is designed to hang within the awning or you can use Vango's Freestanding Airbeam bedroom. Both will sleep 2 people
