Outwell Magnetic Band Connecter

The Magnetic Band Connector can be used to help connect your Driveaway Awning to a Metallic Roof on a Campervan.
The Kit consists of a 6mm single sided Kador which incorporates a magnetic strip and fig 8 profiles. It works in a similar way to a driveaway kit, you slide the awning cord on your driveaway awning into one side of the fig 8 and slide the magnetic strips kador onto the other side of the fig 8. The Magnetic strip should now attach to any metallic panel you want to attach it to.
NOTE We advise that the magnetic strip works best when used as a secondary fixing in conjunction with straps or guy lines over the roof to help give some additional security to the fixing.

Ooops. After talking to my brother who is an engineer ... I want to revise from 3 to 5 stars and to apologise for previous comments and to provide a "tip for users". I said it was not "magnetty" enough. However, this is because I did not realise that it has to be put on the right way up (I thought it was the same either way). If the "magnetty" side is to the roof (T5), it is plenty sticky enough, and just like in the You Tube video I referred to before. However ... there is nothing about this in the instructions / packaging,
Like the staff say on the website, you must only use this in conjunction with straps etc. I have a Vango Kela with straps, and it just about does the job I wanted which is to "stick" the awning to the roof so there is no gap. However, I would prefer a product which is more "magnetty". To be honest, I was a bit taken in by a you tube video (not by this supplier), and have to say that the magnet is nothing like as strong as it makes out.
Good strong magnets held secure to the roof of our VW T4 although a couple of slight leaks occurred, possibly due to the middle magnet being sewn into the fabric upside down (having spoken to others, this isn't unusual). Not major though. Made refitting after s day out quick and easy.
Does indeed provide additional support, but I found the magnets too weak and moderate wind had use straps as well to stop moving around.
magnet strips not strong enough and not suitable for use as it is for vw transporter t6 with pop up roof.

WE DO STATE IN DESCRIPTION THAT WE FEEL THIS FIXING KIT IS ONLY SUITABLE AS A 2ND FIXING FOR THE REASONS HIGHLIGHTED IN THIS REVIEW
This product is a great idea, it joined on to my Outwell awning very easily but unfortunately the 'magnetic strip' is too weak. Rather than a reassuring , positive magnetic fixing it offers a rather pathetic fastening only slightly stronger than placing an ordinary strip of the same weight on the van.

We do recommend that the magnetic Kit is only used as a secondary fixing in conjunction with straps or guy-lines.
